Award recipients who were recognized during Mendota H.S.’s commencement exercises included: Emily Madden, Daniel Stoldt, Katie Rafa-Timberlake, Kristin Dunk, Alen Schnabel, and Rachel Tolar.
Young researchers further adding value to intellectual activities
This year, the Academy of Physical Sciences and Sciences provided (presently) 10 students with Honors in a class that spanned all areas of the creative arts. They included Hannah Magi, Danielle Ley, Conrad Oliver, Zeinah Schmidt, Eli Pal, Sareen Saltonstall, Michael Huang, and Tina Angessen.

Hannah Magi, an education major from Taft High School, received the Stonier Award, an honor in her grade level in English and/or Biology that prepares her for a scholarship to study voice studies at Kent State University.
Mikko Oikawa got a special award for his exceptional start to his English degree. Through passion and good character, he later discovered that his interest in arts and filmmaking influenced his approach to writing, arranging, and production of music and film in the past four years.
Mitchell Blertz excelled in leadership, determination, and efficiency in his pursuit of research. At this year’s graduation ceremony, Blertz garnered a merit award for his leadership abilities and commitment to knowledge.
